Hi, I’m Romy. Thank you for taking this step toward your healing journey—it’s not always easy, and I want you to know you’re not alone. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are emotionally and provide a safe, compassionate space where you feel truly heard, understood, and accepted without judgment.
With over 13 years dedicated to supporting those impacted by crime, trauma, grief and loss, I have always felt a deep honour to be a source of strength for people during their most vulnerable times. Whether you’re coping with a recent loss or carrying long-standing grief, I’m here to help you find comfort and strength.
In a world where we can be connected to everyone and everything, we can become disconnected with those closest to us, including ourselves. I believe that healing begins with a strong, trusting relationship that focuses on connection and safety.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and client centred and that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to work collaboratively with you to address both immediate and long-standing concerns and help you uncover your inner strengths and provide you with tools and strategies that create lasting, positive change.

Hello! My name is Pamela, (Counselling Therapist Student). Welcome to the Stenberg Wellness Centre.
In the busyness of our world, this is your time and space, set aside for your needs.
I am grateful to be walking this journey with you. I strive to be a compassionate and client-centered counsellor dedicated to supporting individual, families and couples through life’s challenges and transitions.
I am a mother of three adult children and a sister to four brothers and four sisters. My joy comes from working with all ages, at all different stages on their counselling journey. I focus on fostering personal growth, emotional resilience, self-awareness, and aiming to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to explore their thoughts, and goals. The time to judge is never.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, abuse, loss and the stages of grief including death, divorce or estrangement. If you are experiencing career, individual and relationship challenges we will focus on personal development initiatives and goal setting strategies together. I am committed to cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and creating a space where every client feels seen, heard and valued.
I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Nature based therapy, Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy and Somatic awareness to help clients reconnect with their strengths and move toward emotional balance.
I believe that healing from trauma is not only possible but deeply transformative when nurtured in an environment of empathy, respect and understanding.
Healing and change come from understanding one’s own story and finding empowerment along that path.
Remembering to find the laughter, love, life purpose and positive moments throughout our day is essential to well-being. I will walk alongside clients as they heal, grow, and reclaim the sunshine in their life.

Hi, I’m Shauna, a counselling student with a lifelong passion for empowering people to feel stronger, lighter, and more at home in their own bodies and lives.
My journey began in the world of fitness and yoga, where I’ve spent over 20 years coaching movement and teaching others how to reconnect with their bodies. Those experiences taught me that healing doesn’t just happen in the body or the mind, it happens in both, together.
I bring that same philosophy into the counselling space. I believe therapy should feel supportive, compassionate, and grounded, with space for lightness when it’s needed most. My approach is person-centered, somatic, and mindfulness-informed, always tailored to your needs.
Outside of my practicum, I work as an Active Living Coach supporting people with brain injuries. Together, we explore ways to move, connect, and live more fully, which continues to show me how resilient and creative people can be.
If we work together, you can expect warmth, curiosity, and a gentle reminder that you already carry the strength you need, sometimes it just helps to have someone walk beside you while you find it.
If you’re curious about starting therapy, I’d love to meet you where you are. Reach out anytime, I’m here when you’re ready.

Hi, I’m Kayla. I come to the counselling program at Stenberg with a strong foundation in psychology through my undergraduate studies, as well as a degree in equine sports therapy. Animals have always been a meaningful part of my life, especially dogs and horses, and I hope to bring that connection into my future practice through equine‑facilitated psychotherapy.
I have navigated childhood trauma, difficult family and relationship dynamics, and grief, and I understand how deeply our bodies can hold onto these experiences. These aspects of my story have shaped my belief in the importance of healing and allowing ourselves to move forward freely. My counselling approach is gentle, collaborative, and rooted in creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Although my door is open to all clients, I feel especially drawn to supporting women who are navigating trauma and complex relationship or family dynamics.
Outside of the therapy room, you can usually find me walking in nature with my two corgis, Maizie and Winston, spending time with my horses, getting lost in a good book (I’m currently inspired by the work of Dr. Gabor Maté), or listening to a true‑crime podcast.
An introductory session can be a gentle way to explore whether working together feels like the right fit for you. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you!

As a counselling therapy student with a strong foundation in Early Childhood Development, I bring both academic knowledge and practical experience supporting children and families, particularly those who are neurodivergent. My work in this field has deepened my understanding of the diverse ways individuals experience the world and the importance of fostering environments that promote acceptance, growth, and emotional well-being.
My personal experiences have also shaped my approach to counselling. Having experienced significant loss and grief at a young age, I developed a deep empathy for those navigating life transitions and emotional pain. Beginning a new chapter as a single mother in my early 30s further strengthened my commitment to helping others find hope and renewal during difficult transitions. My journey into counselling was shaped by personal experiences of loss, trauma, and transformation. Having faced profound grief and the challenges of rebuilding life after trauma and abuse, I have come to understand that healing is not about erasing the past, but about learning to live authentically alongside it. These experiences have deepened my empathy and strengthened my commitment to supporting others through their own seasons of pain, change, and renewal.
I strive to create a therapeutic space that is safe, collaborative, and grounded in empathy. My goal is to support individuals and families as they navigate challenges, explore their strengths, and move toward healing and self-discovery. I believe that with compassion, understanding, and the right support, every person has the capacity to create meaningful change in their lives. My focus is on supporting individuals navigating loss in all its forms—whether it’s the loss of a loved one, identity, safety, or sense of self. I believe in creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can rediscover their voice, rebuild trust in themselves, and begin to reconnect with hope.
Ultimately, my goal is to walk alongside those who are ready to reclaim their lives after hardship, helping them move from surviving to truly living again.

I have been working in the wellness field since 2018 and hold Coach Mastery certification in Health, Life, and Grief Coaching. I am currently completing my practicum in Counselling Therapy, where I am expanding my ability to support clients with deeper therapeutic skills.
I primarily help people navigate anxiety, chronic stress, and grief. I work with children, teens, adults, and families, and I facilitate a weekly in-person Grief Café in my community. I also run an in-person Anxiety Warriors program for children and teens.
Before moving into counselling, I spent more than 25 years teaching art. Creativity remains an important part of my work, and when it feels helpful I integrate expressive art therapy into sessions. My approach is eclectic and integrative, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Alexandra Arts
My name is Alexandra, and I am a counselling student intern at the Stenberg Wellness Centre. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and challenges related to life transitions and relational patterns.
My therapeutic orientation is grounded in a somatic psychodynamic framework, which explores the relationship between early relational experiences, unconscious processes, and the body’s role in emotional expression and regulation. In practice, this approach involves exploring clients’ lived experiences while attending to both verbal narratives and bodily cues that may offer insight into underlying emotional and relational dynamics.
I strive to cultivate a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic environment where clients feel supported in developing greater self-awareness and emotional understanding. Together, we examine how past experiences and internalized patterns may influence present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I also incorporate psychoeducation to help clients build a deeper understanding of therapeutic concepts and support meaningful engagement in the therapeutic process.
My goal is to support clients in fostering increased insight, resilience, and self-trust while working toward greater psychological well-being. I am committed to creating a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported as they explore their experiences and move toward meaningful change.

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something is more important than fear.” — The Princess Diaries (2001)
This quote has stayed with me since childhood. While many people first heard it in The Princess Diaries, its roots trace back to writer Ambrose Redmoon (1991), who described courage as a deeply human, inward experience. Over time, its meaning has grown with me. Courage is not the elimination of fear, but the quiet recognition that something within you matters enough to move toward. Sometimes courage looks like taking a steady breath before the next step, asking a difficult question, or allowing yourself to look inward. By being here and reading this, you may already be taking that step, and I want to honour the strength it takes to do so.
My name is Brittany, and I’m a counselling student at the Stenberg Wellness Centre. My path into this work has been shaped by my own seasons of challenge and growth, as well as years spent in hospitality management, where I learned the importance of presence, attunement, and genuine care. These experiences continue to guide how I show up in the therapy room—with steadiness, curiosity, and deep respect for the courage it takes to explore your inner world.
When I entered this program, I imagined myself working mainly with children and teenagers, especially those who have difficulty expressing themselves. That calling still feels meaningful to me, but as I’ve continued my training, my interests have widened in ways I didn’t expect. In my earlier work in management, much of my experience centered on supporting women between a broad range of ages 16–60. This is where I feel most comfortable so far, but I am still discovering my niche as I grow into this field. I’m open to working with people of all genders, ages, and backgrounds. I genuinely love learning and being a support, and I believe that each client I meet will teach me something just as meaningful as what they may gain from our work together. I welcome individuals moving through anxiety, life transitions, self‑discovery, and the desire to reconnect with themselves.
My approach to counselling is integrative and client centered. I am especially drawn to somatic and emotion‑focused work, and I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy perspectives as well. I’m inspired by Pat Ogden’s Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and the idea that our bodies hold valuable information about our experiences. Learning to notice sensations, understand our emotional landscape, and explore how our behaviours connect to our internal experiences can open the door to meaningful change.
At the same time, I don’t believe in a one‑size‑fits‑all approach. Every person is unique, and I see it as my role to adapt my style to meet the needs, pace, and preferences of each client.
I plan to continue my education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology and further training in nutrition and naturopathic approaches to wellness. In my future practice, I hope to take an integrative perspective that considers the whole person and the ways mind, body, and spirit are interconnected.
My intention is to offer a space of safety, curiosity, and compassion as you explore what is unfolding in your life. We can move through whatever arises—questions, patterns, moments of clarity, or times of uncertainty. I believe you already hold your own roadmap; my role is to support you in reading it with care and understanding. Hello! My name is Andrena. I work independently as a life coach and am currently a counselling student at Stenberg Wellness Centre. I was inspired to become a counsellor through the life challenges I’ve faced. Having experienced the loss of a parent, abuse, childhood trauma and other painful life challenges, I know what it is like when life feels crippling.
If you experience anxiety, relationship struggles, stress, grief or loss, life transitions, emotional distress, low confidence, body image concerns, or depression, I’d love to help support you with my trauma-informed experience. My approach combines a number of research-supported and evidence-based modalities like Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone, that all dark times have an end. I want to be someone you can lean on. Someone trustworthy, with a compassionate heart, an empathetic ear, and a non-judgmental stance. I’m here to hold space for you. Here, you are allowed to be just as you are.

Hello and welcome,
I am a second-year student in the Stenberg Counselling and Therapy program, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support clients as part of my training.
I’m especially interested in questions of meaning, personal growth, and finding balance in life. My approach is reflective and person-centred, informed by mindfulness practices, Eastern perspectives, and philosophical exploration. I aim to create a space where clients can slow down, reflect, and explore their experiences with curiosity and compassion.
Building a genuine therapeutic relationship is central to my work. My intention is to offer a space that feels open, respectful, and grounded in trust — a place where you can speak freely and explore what matters most to you.
In our work together, we will focus on understanding the challenges you’re facing and the role they play in your life. Through reflection and thoughtful conversation, we can work toward greater clarity, self-understanding, and meaningful, sustainable personal growth.
I welcome clients who are navigating concerns such as anxiety, self-esteem, identity exploration, life direction, personal growth, or recurring behavioural patterns. I also welcome anyone who is simply looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space to talk and reflect.
Starting counselling can feel unfamiliar or even a little overwhelming. My goal is to help create a space that feels steady, supportive, and collaborative as we explore what may be most helpful for you.
If you feel ready — or even just curious about the process — you’re welcome to book a 30-minute introductory session. I would be glad to meet you where you are and explore how we might work together.
I look forward to the opportunity to connect and support your growth.

As a student clinician completing my practicum with Stenberg College, I bring clinical training, deep personal resilience, and lived experience to each session. Having navigated foster care, shifting family dynamics, relational abuse, and childhood trauma, I understand how these experiences can shape our sense of self and the ways we relate to others. They can leave lasting wounds—and sometimes lead us into patterns of harm, whether we find ourselves harming or being harmed.
My own healing journey has strengthened my empathy, courage, and belief in every person’s capacity for growth. I welcome clients from all walks of life, including those who may feel uncertain about therapy or who have been mandated to attend but are open to exploring new ways of understanding themselves and their relationships.
My work is grounded in a person-centered approach and integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness and Meditation, REBT, and Gestalt practices. Together, we can create a safe, collaborative space to gently explore old wounds, rebuild self-worth, and move toward a life that feels more steady, meaningful, and fully your own.
If you’re ready—or even just curious about beginning this work—I would be honoured to walk alongside you. I invite you to reach out and book a session when it feels right.

As a Counselling student at Stenberg College, I am excited to work with communities to enhance my skills and knowledge. I have a background in suicide crisis intervention and have years of experience working as a responder with the Vancouver Island Crisis Society. I have had the privilege of contributing to a local network that serves communities across British Columbia, as well as on the 988 helpline, providing support to individuals across Canada.
I firmly believe in the potential for healing resides within each of us. At times, we may find ourselves stuck and in need of collaboration to gain a fresh perspective that propels us forward. I am interested in growing in the areas of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, and align with the holistic approach and philosophies rooted in Existential Therapy. My aim as a student counsellor is to advance my skills in empathic understanding and genuine curiosity. So far in my practicum experience I have been growing in the areas of Person Centered approaches alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Affective interventions and Mindfulness-based techniques.
Recent learning has broadened my scope and before I am finished practicum I would love the chance to work with couples. I will work with individuals of all ages, including children, teens, and adults. Whether you are dealing with addiction, depression, anxiety, bullying or grief and loss, I am here to listen and hold space for you. I am genuinely invested in assisting anyone facing life’s difficulties whatever that looks like, providing a safe space to help develop solutions that align with who you are, and address the unique challenges life presents to each of us.

When is comes to navigating life’s challenges, it can feel overwhelming and unmanageable. In our fast paced culture, we are bombarded by a constant stream of information and a social consumerist narrative, holding the false promise that if we have more and do more, we will be happy. We have learned to push through and keep going, and this has created normalcy around juggling all areas of life and putting ourselves last. Self-care often slips to the bottom of our priority list when we need it the most. We numb ourselves with a multitude of readily available coping mechanisms, everything from scrolling, to substances, to simply ‘tuning out’. We lose connection to those around us and ultimately, ourselves.
My goal as a counselling student is to provide a space where you can simply show up and ‘BE’. I invite you to come as you are, from all walks of life, and enter a space where you can increase your understanding of yourself and others. My professional background for over 15 years as a Certified Dental Assistant has allowed me to serve my community in the oral health profession, and I have gained valuable experience building trust with my patients, especially those suffering from intense and crippling dental anxiety. It is incredibly rewarding for me to see my patients overcome their dental anxiety and proritize their oral health and well being. This realization led me to explore the possibility of shifting the environment and context of how I can help people.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, ruminating thoughts, divorce, relationship or parenting challenges among other mental health concerns, there is hope and help available to you. While my theoretical approach is still growing, I gravitate toward working through a Systemic lens while incorporating CBT, mindfulness, and the Somatic mind body connection. I am open to working with all individuals without judgement while fostering a warm, genuine, empathetic environment where you can be vulnerable and open. If you are ready to explore what change could look like for you, I welcome you to take the first step and book a session. I look forward to the opportunity to be invited into your wellness journey.

Hi, I’m Prabhdeep, a practicum student counsellor completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University under clinical supervision.
Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, especially if you’re not sure where to start, have never been to counselling before, or have learned to manage everything on your own. I strive to offer a warm, gentle, and non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are and talk about whatever feels present for you, even if it feels unclear or difficult to put into words.
I am a culturally responsive and empathetic listener, with over six years of experience supporting newcomers and individuals navigating major life transitions. I am fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, and I am especially mindful of the emotional and cultural challenges that can come with adjusting to life in Canada. I welcome individuals who may feel hesitant to seek help due to stigma, language barriers, or uncertainty about counselling.
My approach is person-centred, strengths-based, and collaborative, drawing from CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused, and trauma-informed perspectives, while remaining flexible to each client’s unique needs and pace. I value creating a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported in making sense of their experiences.
I am particularly interested in working with newcomers to Canada, individuals experiencing depression or emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, new mothers navigating postpartum experiences, and those living with chronic illness. I recognize how isolating these experiences can feel, and I aim to support clients in feeling less alone while exploring coping strategies, resilience, and self-understanding.
I am committed to ethical practice, ongoing learning, and compassionate care. We will provide a safe and welcoming space where you can speak freely, explore your concerns at your own pace, and begin your counselling journey with support and care.

Hello!
My name is Hope, and I am a counselling student completing my practicum at Stenberg Wellness Centre.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you are navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck. Having a supportive space where you can slow down, talk openly, and feel genuinely heard can make a meaningful difference.
Before beginning my journey into counselling, I spent many years as a young mother building and running a successful small business in a small town. Through that work, I had the privilege of connecting with many different people and hearing their stories. Those experiences deepened my appreciation for the power of listening, connection, and creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves.
My approach to counselling is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. As a student, I am continuing to develop my therapeutic style, but I find myself naturally drawn to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a gentle influence from Internal Family Systems (IFS). I appreciate approaches that help people build self-awareness, develop practical tools, and better understand their inner experiences.
My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel safe exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. You do not have to have everything figured out to begin. Sometimes the first step is simply having a place to start the conversation.
If this feels like the kind of support you are looking for, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.

Hi, I’m Alison, a practicum student counsellor under supervision with Stenberg College. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with a minor in Psychology, which sparked my interest in how people’s environments, life experiences, and relationships influence overall wellbeing. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel safe to talk openly, feel truly heard, and explore what matters most to them.
My approach is primarily person-centred and strengths-based, and I also draw on solution-focused strategies to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns while developing practical tools for change. I see counselling as a collaborative process, where we work together to explore challenges, build on personal strengths, and move toward greater clarity, resilience, and balance. I am particularly interested in supporting individuals navigating stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and those who may feel overwhelmed or stuck and are looking for a way forward.
Before entering the counselling field, I spent many years working in high-pressure sales environments, where I developed a deep understanding of the stress, expectations, and competing demands people often carry in both their professional and personal lives. This experience has shaped the empathy and perspective I bring to supporting clients who may feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or stretched in multiple directions.
My perspective is also shaped by lived experience navigating life’s challenges, including parenting and experiences of grief. These experiences have deepened my compassion and respect for the courage it takes to seek support and begin exploring meaningful change. I strive to meet each client with curiosity, warmth, and without judgment as they share their unique story.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, and finding balance through activities that support connection and wellbeing.
If you are looking for a compassionate and supportive space to explore challenges, gain new perspectives, and work toward positive change, I would be honoured to walk alongside you in that process.
